Joe served as a medic in 1st Plt, B Co., 1st Bn 6th Inf in 1967-68.  He was one of the original members
of the unit that formed at Ft. Hood, TX in 1967.  He was wounded at Lo Giang by mortar fire, and later
by enemy machine gun fire.  These are the only photos he brought home from Vietnam.  His camera with
undeveloped film was in an ammo pouch when he was wounded.  All six photos are thought to have been
taken at Binh Son, south of Chu Lai, in late December 1967, but may have been taken north of Chu Lai.
